The Egg Carton: Theory of a Periodic Superstructure of Some Lipid Membranes

Abstract
A model calculation of the square membrane superstructure of some mixed lipid bilayers is
presented. It involves bending elasticity of higher than quadratic order in the principal
curvatures and employs Monte Carlo simulation.
