Strictly speaking, the name
single conformation model
is incorrect since the model implies two conformations, mirror images of one another In fact, the word
single
means that the two conformations are defined by the knowledge of one of them The same situation occurs in the crystallographic studies of solid phases [13-16] Only the structure of one conformation is given, although the unit cell always contain an even number of molecules whose conformations are two by two mirror images of one another.
