Abstract
In this paper we apply our results concerning a new view on a mechanical description of strongly curved amphiphilic interfaces
to experimental data available in the literature (Rand et al., 1990). Our theory predicts that, for cylindrical interfaces, one has to take into account, three elastic moduli corresponding
to area extension, bending and mixed deformations. We determine the value of the three elastic moduli for the internal dividing
surface of strongly curved DOPE monolayer in the H
-phase. Analysing for this purpose the experimental we recognise lateral compressibility and bending in the same time. As
a result we recover the moduli that are closer to work one on bilayer than had been determined in precedent papers considering
only bending energy. Using this set of parameters we find the position of the neutral surface and the values of elastic moduli
corresponding to the neutral surface. We find the quantitative dependence of all the elastic moduli on the position of the
dividing surface and compare them with those previously obtained.
