Unusual exponents in interface roughening: the effects of pinning

Abstract
Recent experiments indicate that interface roughening in fluid displacement in porous media is characterized by exponents that differ from the predictions of standard roughening models. By introducing two simple models that take into account the effect of interface pinning by pores, we can easily account for the unusual exponents.
