Abstract
We present a simple description of configuration and dynamical properties of megabase DNA undergoing gel electrophoresis.
The molecule moves in the field in the shape of a self-similar tree-like structure. The electrophoretic mobility of DNA in
this regime is independent of its molecular weight.
